Abstract

It is full of reminiscences of the article writer about Syed Ali Raza Naqvi replete with the pioneering scholarship of the later. The very aspect of the article has many relevant references to cite on account of Mr Naqvi’s lexicography and his meticulous research on tazkira navisi in the sub-continent carried out in Persian language. Mr Naqvi is also reckoned to produce many tutorial texts for the non-native learners of Persian language in Pakistan. It is an unfortunate episode of the Pakistan media response to those scholars whose works have been recognized in Iran as the best book of the year but the Pakistani audience knows nothing about them. It is an interesting fact that the works of Pakistani researchers were recognized best in Iran in three consecutive years: 2012, 2013 and 2014. The writer of this article, Dr Anjum Hameed and Mr Naqvi were among those recognized through aalmi kitab saal award.
