Abstract

The article attempts to highlight the elements forming Allama Iqbal's conception of history. These three are crucial: Quranic conception of history; Muslim historians such as Albairuni andIbn-e Khaldun; conceptions of the Western thinkers particular A Spengler. The writer of the article claims it is the deep study of the history that makes a man a thinker as to what he understands how the social changes occurs in the course of history. Citing relevant reference from the writings of Iqbal which gleaned his conception of history, the article sheds light on the Iqbal's own conception of history.
