Abstract

Selflessness in teachers is becoming rare in our society where once these societies were replete with such teachers who had nothing to do with monetary gain. This article provides glimpses of those teachers who not produced people of strength but also their contributions set examples for others to follow. The article provides fifteen exemplary teachers for whom any society can be proud of. There was a tendency among these selfless teachers to not only help their teachers but also support them from their meagre financial resources. Among those included are Maulana Ishaq Rampuri, Shamsul Ulema Maulvi Syed Mir Hassan, Dr Ghulam Mustafa Khan, Allama Abdul Aziz Memon, Dr Muhammed Hameedulah, Dr Ishtiaq Husain Qureshi, Dr Syed Abdullah, Dr Syed Moinul Haq, Dr Abulais Siddiqui, Chaudhary Abdul Rehman, Maulana Abdul Salam Qidwai, Maulana Syed Murtaza Adeeb, Maulana Moeen Ajmeri, Dr Zakir Husain Khan and Dr Ziauddin Ahmed.
