Abstract
This article focuses on the Tazkiras (biographical and literary timeline), published in Iran from 1935 to 2021, and based on Persian works written or compiled here in the Subcontinent. This article is intended for the readers of Urdu to know the works of Tazkiras published in Iran which remain unnoticed even among the Persian scholars of this part of the world. Those who are willing to see details of such works and their critical appreciations can refer Tazkira navisi farsi dar Hind wa Pakistan by Dr. Ali Raza Naqvi. Tazkira writing is the rich and centuries-old tradition in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. This form of writing entails many aspects such as the lives of sufis, ulemas (scholars), poets, nobles, calligraphers, physicians and women.
