Abstract
This article focuses on the Urdu literary letters and their rare collections from Mirza Ghalib to Mirza Daagh Dahlavi. Many known literary figures and their letters have also been discussed in between these two renowned poets of Urdu. The article discusses not only the historical perspectives of the letters but it also mentions the biographical details of the writer. The letters of Ghalib paved the way for the style for others to follow. The letters selected in the article had a deep impact on the letters written in the later days. Ghalib’s spontaneous expression and delightful reminiscences have always been followed by many letter writers. The letters cited in this article are replete with advices to the novice poets that which words they should select and which to avoid. The literary letters for many of them were a great source for learning the craft of poetry and other writing skills.
