Abstract

This article presents an article about an unknown Persian Poet Faiz Usmani of Marwar by the renowned research Hafiz Mehmood Shirani. This article remained edited in the works of the researcher culminated in eight hefty volumes by Mazhar Mehmood Shirani. This article was published in the daily Urdu Jang on 5 October 1980 on the occasion of his death anniversary of the researcher. Faiz Usmani learned his rudimentary education from his elder Shaikh Muhammad Moazzam. When got fame, he was patronized by Nizam Deccan Asif Jah. He preferred to spend his rest of life in his ancestral place. Many poets and artists thronged to the Delhi Empire where the rulers were patronizing them but he did not go there as Muhammad Shah Rangeela then ruled Delhi. This article shows his Persian couplet of various forms such Naat, Hamd, Ghazals and Fardiat. This article carries brief remarks about his poetry.
