کراچی کی سماجی اور سیاسی محرومیاں:رئیس امروہوی کے قطعات کے تاریخی عوامل
Abstract
This article aims at highlighting motives behind the stanzas (four liners) of renowned poet Rais Amrohvi, focusing on the social and political issues of Karachi. These stanzas were originally written for Urdu daily Jang and then compiled in books which ran through many editions. The stanzas selected here in this article to evidence the downtrodden masses of the city, its infrastructure and no urban planning has been here since partition. This has led the city into a madly urbanized one. It has two sections. Its first section shares multiple reasons and the tendency of cold shoulder from the administration and political regimes inherited the city over seven decades. Moreover, its second section includes the stanzas of the poet to show the timeline of the city and how the city and its habitants were resilient to face the highhandedness of the administration and political figures. The article mentions many primary sources to conclude its position.
